Reviews Inge Strange, 22 January 2013 Lovely Place to Relax Life was simple and relaxed at Cerah Villa. The staff were very friendly and capable. The location was excellent except for the beach proper as there was some garbage. The sand was lovely despite this. Extras (like massage, dolphin trips or grocery runs) were afforable and easily arranged. The space was incredibly child friendly. We had such a lovely time. vblais, 22 January 2013 Fantastic for families! We were five adults with four children from ages 1 to 5 and everyone agreed that this was the best place for us to spend the holiday together. We spent most days by the pool, enjoying Sani's food and the beautiful views. Hiring drivers locally to tour around was easy to do and the guard was very helpful in arranging events for us. The house is beautiful and at the end of a long line of beautiful villahs that are really out on the beach all by themselves. Across the street it is rice paddies for as far as the eyes can see. A great getaway! RGill, 5 March 2013 Wonderful time! We stayed at Villa Cerah for a week, and were sad to leave! The staff was great and very helpful. The villa was beautiful and exactly as advertised. The pictures do not do it justice! Location was nice and quiet. We had a wonderful relaxing time and would highly recommend this property, we would definitely return! dmtyson1, 27 March 2013 Great location for a relaxing vacation Since this was our first trip to Bali, we spent our first 2 weeks in the Sanur area. Once at Villa Cerah we were sorry we hadn’t spent the entire month at Villa Cerah & taken day trips to the South. Villa Cerah is a peaceful oasis to relax- made so by the staff. Exactly as advertised! The Villa is meticulously maintained by Sani. Gusti’s gardens & pool area are so beautiful. Of course Sani’s cooking is superb. The black sand beach is perfect for hours of beachcombing searching for sea glass & sea shells. A driver/car are required for any outings & this is easy & affordable to arrange. We had a wonderful stay & feel very grateful to have had the opportunity to visit Bali & stay at Villa Cerah. Thank you Herbert & Rita for making your Villa available to guests and to Sani, Gusti & Reagen for a memorable visit! Highly recommend Villa Cerah for a relaxing vacation! Birgit Gelzleichter, 30 August 2013 Two weeks in Paradise Our two weeks at Villa Cerah surpassed all our expectations. We found ourselves in paradise! The perfect place to relax. A very spacious place, tasteful furnitured with a wonderful garden. All the staff are excellent and Sani, the cook, is an angel! We just told her that we love Balinese food and left it up to her what to prepare for our dinners und lunches. That was the best decision ever! We only dined out on her days off - no restaurant or warung could be better than her cooking! Unfortunately there is one fly in the ointment: although the villa is a fair distance from the village we were bound to be victims of the acoustical warfare that is going on between Muslim and Hindu in that area. The speakers of the mosques are on maximum and we got "sung" out of bed at about 3:30 am and 6:00 am. On several days there were special ceremonies at the Hindu temples as well (such as New Moon, Full Moon, Saraswati ...) and they are using LOUDspeakers as well. Close the windows for sleeping. Max Overgaard Kristensen, 06 August 2013 Super holiday We are a family of 7 people (oldest 56, yungest 2). We have just ended a 3 week holiday on Bali. We started in this beautiful house....and we could not think of a better start. Clean, nice, spaceous, nice view and super friendly staff, that cooked food for us every day. You really dont need any restaurant, as you can just tell the girls what you want them to prepare, and the will do the shopping for you, and cook the food....and they are great cooks. Every morning we went jogging, and when we came back, the staff has prepared breakfast for us. We felt like kings and queens. The best spot for us, was on the veranda, were we sat a lot, playing cards, talked, and just enjoyed the view......but also the pool, and the open garden house, where you can sit and read, relax or just enjoy the view. Everybody agrees, that this was the best part of our trip. Thanks for having us. clcontino,16 February 2014 Right on the beach, beautiful villa, great staff My family and I (myself, wife, mother, father) stayed at Villa Cerah for nine nights over Christmas and New Years in 2013 - absolutely wonderful villa, pretty garden in the grounds, great pool, staff were extremely helpful, kind, and understanding. The food and cooking was top notch and very delicious - we only paid for groceries and told them to treat us to Indonesian/Balinese specialities and we were not disappointed. Plenty of space in the villa with 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and the expansive outdoor furniture comfortably seated everyone. Cannot say enough about how happy we were with stay. The villa sits right on a black sand beach which we never experienced before and the ocean was calm this time of year, hardly any rain despite being the rainy season in Bali (north coast usually avoids much rain during this period). We felt pampered the whole time and would gladly stay again. Owners were very helpful every step of the way in the booking process. Pierre, 16 September 2013 peaceful and beautiful The villa is exactly what's seen on the pictures : beautiful and well maintained. To have a chief cook to care of our meals (lunch+dinner) is a real relief. Tini the chief cook has great skills in preparing delicious balinese meals from fresh ingredients she buys every day from local markets. Not to talk about the others of the team (Sri, the gardener [sorry I don't remember his name] and Regan), everybody contributed to make our holidays memorable. I can see that everybody worked very hard. They deserve our gratitude. Thank you all ! A remark about security : not having separation between the villa and the beach can be a source of worries. But having Regan patrolling all night with his lamp torch is a great relief. On the water one can't see more than 1 meter. For snorkeling I would advice to drive to Menjangan. Janine, 18 July 2014 Beautiful Villa in the "real" Bali Extremely clean and well kept, this villa was perfect for our family of four. Our children loved swimming in the well maintained pool, the water temperature was warm day or night! The bedrooms were air-conditioned which was very welcome after the humid hot days, with mosquito nets over all the beds. The staff, Sani, Reagen and Gusti were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The location was lovely with beautiful views of the mountains from the front and the sea from the back. There is a local fishing village about 200 metres up the beach and my husband enjoyed waking early and photographing the fisherman bringing in their daily haul and watching the children play. The local town of Serririt was fantastic with a huge supermarket (Hardy's) offering some Western foods, and real local markets and offerings in the surrounding streets, very few tourists there which we loved. Lovina is a 30 min drive and offers great restaurants, markets and spas. Peter Griffiths. 3 July 2014 THE Perfect villa in a fantastic location! We've just returned from a two week stay at Villa Cerah. The description and photos were completely accurate, in fact we found it even better than we expected. Extremely clean and well kept, this villa was perfect for our family of four. Our children loved swimming in the well maintained pool, the water temperature was warm day or night! The bedrooms were air-conditioned which was very welcome after the humid hot days, with mosquito nets over all the beds which offered well needed protection from the mozzies. The staff, Sani, Regan and Gusti were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We highly recommend Global Village Kafe in Lovina for the best coffee and yummy food with great service and Spice Beach Club in Lovina for a more expensive, but highly exceptional dining experience (and they offer free p/up and d/off service). The drivers that we used were recommended by the villa staff and were professional and safe and knew all the places to go. We enjoyed snorkelling at Mangellan Island, the Buddhist Temple, Hot Springs and so much more. Oh and the best desserts are found at the chocolate museum halfway to Lovina! Our children LOVED swimming with the dolphins at the Melka Hotel - an experience not to miss! and we even saw dolphins from our pool one day - beautiful. The gardens around the villa were divine and we enjoyed relaxing in the bale and on the porch. Sani cooked us some amazing local food which we enjoyed a lot. The only negative was there is a Muslim mosque nearby and they broadcast the prayers and chanting early morning and early evening, which initially we found annoying, but we soon learned to take it in as part of the experience. We highly recommend this villa, the communication with Herbert & Rita in Holland was exceptional and backed up by the fantastic staff they have employed to manage the villa. THANK YOU so much. Peter Griffiths. Reply owner:: Thanks Janine and Peter for this wonderful review. It rewards our passion to share the "Bali Feelings" with the guests of our Villa Cerah. We realize that especially in the beginning of your stay you have to get used to the expressions of the mosque. Possibly the calls to prayer were more frequent because of Ramadan. Besides Hinduism, Bali has a large population of Muslims and as you know, this is part of the culture.

Relaxing seaside escape, 02 februari 2016 Relaxing seaside escape with gorgeous pool We were a group of 2 couples who spent Christmas at Villa Cerah. From the initial contact with the villa owners we had a great feeling about how the rest of the trip would turn out. The booking process was very easy and we arrived at the villa with high expectations. Our expectations were met with awesome villa staff, a beautiful villa/gardens/pool and all the amenities we could ask for. The housekeepers Sani and Iluh were exceptional, they sure know how to cook! They made us beautiful breakfast, lunch and dinner as we requested. The villa is in a very quiet part of Bali, perfect if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta or Seminyak! As the villa is in a quiet part further down from Lovina, be prepared to relax and enjoy the quiet. Lovina and other northern Bali attractions are a short drive away for those days you wish to do something active or seek a change of scenery. There was security on site and we felt very at home here. Fantastic stay! Thank you :) Chantelle McCallum, January 2018 Villa Cerah is paradise. Villa Cerah is paradise. The location is away from the main hustle of Serririt/Lovina but close enough to everything. The staff take great care of you, Iluh is a terrific cook, the gardens are perfect and it is such a relaxing place. My family enjoyed every minute of our 2 week stay and hope to return soon.
